Safety Day

The 16th Annual Safety Day for fourth graders for Shelby County was held  on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Shelby County 4-H Fairgrounds in Shelbyville. Thank You Sarah Bush Lincoln Health!

Kindergarten Round-Up May 5th

Stewardson-Strasburg Elementary School is hosting Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2016-2017 school year.  It will be held next Thursday, May 5th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. for any students who will be enrolling in kindergarten next year.  This will give them the opportunity to see the classroom, meet the teacher, and browse through what our kindergarteners have been working on this year.  Please call the elementary office . . .

Stew-Stras 1st Grade Visits Ballard Nature Center

On Tuesday, April 19th, the first grade students at Stewardson-Strasburg Grade School went to Ballard Nature Center in rural Altamont.  The trip served as the culminating activity after a year full of learning and fun with the  Ag in the Classroom  program, sponsored by Shelby County Farm Bureau.  The kids participated in a nature lesson, took at nature walk, and had fun exploring the indoor educational exhibits. . . .

Junior High Scholar Bowl Wins NTC

Congratulations to the Junior High Scholar Bowl team for taking home the win against Sacred Heart, with a score of 180-100, to become the conference champions.  Dean Kaufman was named 2nd place in conference and Kiefer Reel tied for 10th place.   The Scholar Bowl team currently has a record of 11-2 and will compete here at Stew-Stras Wednesday, April 27th at 4:00 for regionals.  Coach Bill Little said, . . .

Physical Examination Clinic

The Shelby County Health Department will hold a physical examination clinic at Stewardson-Strasburg Schools on Thursday, May 12.  Exams are required for children entering kindergarten, sixth grade and ninth grade and for all students participating in athletics.  There is a $20 fee for the exam.  Checks should be made payable to the Shelby County Health Department and medical cards are accepted.  Physical forms are . . .

Calendar Change Due to Snow Day

School will be in session on Friday, April 29th due to the snow day on February 24th. Our remaining proposed snow days are on Fridays May 6, 13, and 20, as well as Thursday, March 24th.
