Stewardson-Strasburg Elementary School is hosting Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2016-2017 school year. It will be held next Thursday, May 5th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. for any students who will be enrolling in kindergarten next year. On Tuesday, April 19th, the first grade students at Stewardson-Strasburg Grade School went to Ballard Nature Center in rural Altamont. The trip served as the culminating activity after a year full of learning and fun with the Ag in the Classroom program, sponsored by Shelby County Farm Bureau. The kids participated in a nature lesson, took at nature walk, and had fun exploring the indoor educational exhibits. . . .
Congratulations to the Junior High Scholar Bowl team for taking home the win against Sacred Heart, with a score of 180-100, to become the conference champions. Dean Kaufman was named 2nd place in conference and Kiefer Reel tied for 10th place. The Scholar Bowl team currently has a record of 11-2 and will compete here at Stew-Stras Wednesday, April 27th at 4:00 for regionals. Coach Bill Little said, . . .
The Shelby County Health Department will hold a physical examination clinic at Stewardson-Strasburg Schools on Thursday, May 12. Exams are required for children entering kindergarten, sixth grade and ninth grade and for all students participating in athletics. There is a $20 fee for the exam.
